The new 105 R7000 components are not only visually oriented towards their big siblings Dura Ace R9100 and Ultegra R8000, but also from a technical point of view some features of the top groups have been adopted. With a variety of translation options and the choice between rim and disc brakes, it is just as suitable for everyday drivers as for racing use.

The BR-R7010 brake is characterized by its balance in terms of stiffness, weight and braking power. The brakes are connected to the frame with 2 screws on the brake arms via the direct mount brake mountings. This design reduces the number of moving parts on the brake. This makes the response more sensitive and the braking power increases. With a spread between the thighs to 51 millimeters, the brake is suitable for 28-millimeter-wide rims and 28C tires.

The brakes are equipped with R55C4 brake shoes with aluminum alloy padding.
